Unlike make-up that must be removed and re-applied daily, permanent make-up is a tattoo that uses pigments instead of inks to provide the same appearance as make-up, without the hassle. You will not be able to wear make-up on or around the tattooed area for at least a week, and should not rub the area vigorously when washing for the first month. The tattooed area will form a crust that must be allowed to fall off naturally – do not pick or scratch at it. Keep the area out of the sun, even once healed, as sun exposure fades the pigments. Permanent make-up on the lips, whether liner or full lip treatment, tends to make the lips very dry, and after 2 or 3 days, lips will peel.
You should not consider permanent make-up if you are allergic to pigmentation inks, if your skin forms scars or keloids easily, or if the skin is cracked, peeling or blistering when the procedure is scheduled.
